You may not have a separate pool room to install your pool table. In such cases the option open to you is to install it in one of your rooms that may be the dining, the sitting or the living room. However, you have to take care that the table fits in appropriately with the size of the room so that it looks as a piece of furniture and not something out of place.

The sizes of the Pool tables are ordinarily determined by the size of the inside playing surface. The area is from the nose of one cushion rubber to the opposite cushion rubber. The normal size of the tables is 9’ X 4.5’ though it might vary with some manufacturers. However, the length of the table is always twice its breadth.

Much as the billiard tables, the room size for it will depend on the length of the cue that is standardized at 57” long  and add three inches for feathering which means moving backward and forward. This makes it 60” overall. The room should therefore be 120” larger on all four sides of the table. This means, for an average home table of 88” X 44”, the room size should be 208” X 164”, making your game comfortable. You can of course use one of those used pool tables for sale to measure the requirements but the other method would be more accurate.
